FC FAST 07' Donaghy Earn Classic League Promotion

Our FC FAST 07' (Donaghy) boys earned promotion to Classic League D2 division after wrapping up their fall league play. The team knew with a win in their final game they would clinch a top three spot and responded with a 9-0 victory to leave no doubt at the final whistle.

The team has finished one spot out of promotion for the past few season and set a team goal for promotion this fall. Overall the team finished with six wins, two draws and one loss. The team scored 34 goals in league play with 12 goals against.

"We are very proud of our teams efforts this fall," said head coach Paul Donaghy. "We have been so close but in keeping with small roster sizes to maximize playing time and development we have been at a little bit of a disadvantage in the standing and injuries have held us back at the end. Even in this last game we started with one sub and found ourselves quickly down to just 11 after an unfortunate head injury that we weren't going to take any chances with."

The team will enter the spring D2 season with the same goal, promotion. They enter the spring as the highest ranked D2 according to Youth Soccer Rankings but knows all the games will be close given the quality of opponents.

"We are very excited about playing in D2 this spring," said Coach Paul. "We expect every game to be a nail bitter and that is what makes it fun. There is little margin of error so the boys will have to work hard to be ready to play each and every game."
